Born: 1
july 1967
Birthplace: Ladysmith, British Columbia, Canada
Having graced the cover of Playboy magazine
no less than six times, the buxom blonde turned her fancy to acting, landing
a role on the internationally popular Baywatch (1992–1997). Her off-screen
life became its own little drama when she married Motley Crüe's Tommy Lee in
1995, then separated and reunited repeatedly between the births of their two
sons. She filed for divorce in February 1998 when Lee was arrested and pled
guilty to assaulting her. The couple reunited in 1999.
Facts about Pamela:
Talk about starting your career off early. Pam
became a celebrity at birth: she became famous as the "Centennial Baby,"
the first baby born on Canada's 100th anniversary. (Incidentally, she was born
brunette.)
While attending a football game in Vancouver,
a cameraman focused in on Pam and put her face on the stadium's screen, to wild
audience applause. Pam was wearing a Labatt's Beer T-shirt at the time; the
company took notice and made a commercial with her, launching her career.
After many persistent phone calls, Pam agreed
to go on a date with Tommy, but had to cancel it for a modeling job in Mexico.
Undeterred, Tommy followed her there, and the two got married after a mere four
days of courting. They married on a beach, with the bride wearing a bikini,
and the groom in shorts. Instead of getting wedding bands, they tattooed each
other's names on their wedding finger. Pam changed "Tommy's" to "Mommy's"
after they split.
Personal quotes:
"Pamela Lee said her name is
tattooed on her husband's penis. Which explains why she changed her name from
Anderson to Lee."
- Conan O'Brien (about Tommy Lee)
"To be a California beach bum."
- Pamela Anderson Lee's ambition as listed in her high school yearbook.
"It was terrible. We had it
stored with all of our personal things in a refrigerator-sized safe that was
behind a carpeted wall, behind all of Tommy's recording equipment. Tommy's gun
collection was in there, and because of the advice of the construction workers
who built it, all our personal things. We went down there to get some family
photos, and it was gone. The whole safe. And the pictures turned up on the Internet
and in Penthouse."

"I never intended to be in
the business. I was in Vancouver at a football game and someone asked me to
pose for Playboy. My boyfriend at the time said: 'Absolutely not!' The
worst thing you can do is tell me NOT to do something."
- Pamela Anderson
"It's going to take a certain
man for me to ever get involved with, because he'll have to realize I don't
have two children, I have three. Tommy is always going to always be a part of
my life."
- US Magazine. Issue 249.
"I don't really think about
anything too much. I live in the present. I move on. I don't think about what
happened yesterday. If I think too much, it kind of freaks me out.."
- US Magazine. Issue 249.
"My ideal relaxation is working
on upholstry. I spend hours in junk shops buying furniture. I do all the upholstery
work myself, and it's like therapy."
"I'm a mother with two small
children, so I don't take as much crap as I used to." [on the changes in
her life]
"There's never going to be
a great misunderstanding of me. I think I'm a little whacked."
