Angelina Jolie was born in Los Angeles in 1975. Her father, the brilliant actor Jon Voight, seperated from Jolie's mother when Angelina was two years old. Angelina, her brother and mother, moved to New York where they regularly moved from one apartment to the other. She was trained in acting from an early age, which was pushed by both of her parents. In fact, both Angelina and her brother were given middle names that could function as last names in case they wanted to drop Voight from the prospective stage names. When she was 11, she moved back to Los Angeles, and got a slight taste for the Hollywood life by attending award shows with her father.

She has done a number of smaller projects including HACKERS (where she met her ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller whom she wed at age 20), FOXFIRE, and CYBORG II. However, it was the made for TV movie GEORGE WALLACE (in which she won a Golden Golbe for Best Supporting Actress) that began to snag people's attention. She followed up the award with another Golden Globe award, this time for Best Actress in the made for television film GIA.
